Updates for Tuesday, April 4:

23:28 update:The race for a major Wisconsin Senate seat is too early to call
Von Todd Richmond, Associated Press

MADISON, Wisconsin (AP) -- The outcome of the Senate race in the state of Wisconsin, which has been under Republican control for decades, is too soon to tell, with just a few hundred votes separating candidates in a race. who won the Republican Party may be one step closer to overriding Governor Tony Evers' vetoes or even impeaching him. Republican Representative Dan Knodl had a narrow lead over Democratic Attorney Jodi Habush Sinykin. The Associated Press will continue to monitor the vote count and will consider declaring a winner as election officials confirm they have completed tabulating all pending ballots. The result could determine whether the Republican Party is closer to a supermajority capable of overriding Governor Tony Evers' vetoes.

10:49 pm Update:Addressing his supporters, Jodi Habush Sinykin says he is very close to calling and people should go home for the night. She is running against Dan Knodl (R) for a seat in the District 8 Senate.

Update at 8:32 pm:

I just arrived:
Half of the votes cast early votes for Waukesha Co.
If this trend continues, that would be a huge percentage for Protasiewicz - Kelly must be at least 60 years old. Judge Hagedorn won the county 68% in his narrow 2019 winpic.twitter.com/D026ESFVSU

20:29 update:

:: Still too early, but a few things to watch out for:

Update 20:17:

Update at 8:15 pm:

Scott Bauer, Associated Press
MADISON, Wisconsin (AP) - Wisconsin polls are closed as voters decide the outcome of the most expensive court race in U.S. history in a heated race that will likely decide the fate of access to abortion. The future of Republican-drawn legislative maps, voting rights and years of other Republican policies are also at stake in Tuesday's election. The Wisconsin Supreme Court has been under conservative control for 15 years. It was just one vote away from President Joe Biden's narrow 2020 victory. Democrat-backed candidate Janet Protasiewicz faces Republican-backed Dan Kelly in the officially bipartisan race that has collapsed along party lines.
